I’ve always felt that mascara is a personal preference. Why would you use a volumizing mascara if you were going to comb through ever lash with a safety pin or lash comb so there are no clumps? There’s probably a better mascara that meets your needs. This is why it’s important to choose the right mascara for you. One mascara that I often recommend is tubing mascara.
What is Tubing Mascara?
Tubing mascara creates actual tubes around your lashes. This allows the mascara to extend beyond the actual length of your lashes. The formula works like waterproof mascaras without the hassle. It’s smudge proof, smear proof, and will wear for hours if you need it to. When you want to remove it, you just use warm water.
Will YOU Like It?
I have four main priorities with a mascara – something that adds volume, has a good brush, won’t smudge, and is easy to remove. My bottom lashes are longer and prone to smudging. When this happens, I look tired and my dark circles are more noticeable. If I use a tubing mascara, it never smudges! Even better, I can remove the mascara with my fingers! The mascara slides off easily in little tubes. It’s so gentle on the eyes.
If you are used to using makeup remover to get rid of mascara, the transition to warm water might be a struggle for you. Also, I think there are formulas out there that provide a little bit better definition in the lashes and offer better brushes.
How to Use It?
Most tubing mascaras work like normal mascaras, but the one by L’Oreal comes with a primer. First, apply the primer. Let it set for about 30 seconds, then apply the mascara. If you apply the mascara too soon, you will miss out on some of the volume. If you apply it too late, it is harder to coat.
one eye with mascara, one eye without

One final note. Don’t let your toddler play with your mascara. Harvey found it fascinating and managed to use half of the primer on my shirt!
Please forgive Harvey for his post-nap bed head. If only we all slept as good as a baby!!
