I’ve always loved the iPhone commercials with the phrase, “there’s an app for that.” As an avid apple and iPhone user, it is nice to know that there is “an app for just about anything.” I have found that the same is true with makeup. Whatever your needs are, there is a product for that! With that in mind, I thought I would share some of my favorites from my experience working backstage at fashion week, glamming celebrities for the red carpet, and more recently working as an affordable makeup artist in Arizona.
Below are some basic beauty needs with products to remedy them. Let me know if you have questions about how to use them or where you can find them.
Dark Circles
Benefit Erase Paste
YSL Touche Eclat
I recommend applying a small amount of benefit’s erase paste with a brush. Less is more with this product. The peachy tone will correct the blueness under the eyes. Then, apply the touché éclat on top to brighten. If YSL is too pricey, look for an alternative concealer that illuminates. Both products are needed to fully correct the dark area and bring life to the under eyes.
Small Eyes
Stila Eyeshadow in Kitten
Apply this shadow from the lash line to the brow bone. It contains three different shades of pearl that reflect light and make your eyes look bigger. If you want, you can wet your brush and paint another coat on the ball of your eyes. This technique is a great way to visually enhance the eye shape and enlarge the eyes.
Lipstick That Bleeds
Anastasia Wax Lip Pencil
Use this pencil as a reverse lip liner. Apply it around the outside of your lips. The wax settles into the creases of your lips and prevents lipstick from spreading.
Aging Body
Makeup Forever Face and Body Makeup
Stila Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer
