2 Places to Put Shimmer

People I meet usually fit into 2 categories – Shimmer Obsessed or Shimmer Afraid.  I secretly wish everyone could find a happy medium.  HA!  I love shimmer-when it is used appropriately of course!!!  Most people that overuse it do so because it looks so pretty, why not brush it EVERYWHERE??!!  Those that underuse or don’t use it fear that it is going to attract unwanted attention to their face.  If you fit into one of these categories, let’s try to meet in the middle!!  Here are two places I think that everyone should use a little shimmer!

1 – Your Eyeball

The center of the eyeball is the place I am most concerned about enhancing.  Adding a little shimmer to this spot on the eye can add life and attention to your eyes.  It will NOT emphasize your wrinkles if you use the right shadow.  Look for one that is more satiny in texture.  I love this palette by stila because the shimmers are less glittery. It also contains some matte eyeshadows to use on the rest of your eye area.  I add shimmer on the ball of my eyes for emphasis and keep the rest of the area more matte.

2 – Your Cheekbone

Highlighting your cheekbone with shimmer is a great way to slim your face and/or add dimension.  If you are scared to put shimmer on your face, keep in mind it is not glitter.  I simply dusted a champagne shadow down my cheekbone and blended it with my finger.  For a more natural look, try a liquid shimmer.
